Rona Matthew, The Connector
In 2009, after studying Marketing at Howard University in Washington, DC, Rona moved to Johannesburg, South Africa. Her interest in people and collaboration lead Rona to creating Brandpulse, a brand-led, user centric, customised collaboration consultancy. Finding and managing unique multidisciplinary teams uniquely tailored to fit brands, is how she delivers value and competitive advantage for her clients.
Together with her business partners, leading South African digital agency, Bamboo Network, Rona has managed numerous multi-stakeholder projects. She has delivered business and brand strategies, website and app development, social media management, content distribution, and event production for over 20 entrepreneurs, start-ups and established brands such as: South African Airways, Coca-Cola, Unilever and Save the Children to name a few.
In the entertainment space, she has also produced private events for Grammy award winner Ne-yo, Nigerian Megastar D’banj, Pepsi x #FAROPresents collaborations, and Washington, DC sports agency Jam Sports & Entertainment.
Above all, Rona has a penchant for artist enterprise and has had a lifelong appreciation for music. She believes musicians need more advocates with the business savvy and genuine desire to shape the music industry into one that prioritises its most valuable asset.
